Night suit size guide: how to pick the right size for women
A simple night suit size chart for S to XXL, how to measure, and why the larger of your bust and hip size is the one to choose.

A night suit should be the most comfortable thing you own. But order one size too small and the buttons pull across the chest. Order too big and the pyjama drags under your heels. Here's how to pick the right night suit size the first time.
The short version: measure your bust and your hips, and choose the size that fits the larger of the two. Night suits are meant to be relaxed, so if you're between sizes, go up.
Night suit size chart
Measure in inches, over light clothing, with the tape snug but not tight.
| Size | Bust (in) | Waist (in) | Hips (in) |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | 32–34 | 26–28 | 34–36 |
| M | 34–36 | 28–30 | 36–38 |
| L | 36–38 | 30–32 | 38–40 |
| XL | 38–40 | 32–34 | 40–42 |
| XXL | 40–42 | 34–36 | 42–44 |
You'll find the same measurements in our size guide.
How to measure
- Bust: around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level.
- Waist: around your natural waist, the narrowest part above your belly button.
- Hips: around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Measure without a padded bra, or with the bra you usually sleep in.
Which measurement matters most
A night suit has two pieces, so your top and bottom can need different sizes:
- For the shirt, the bust decides. A button-down shirt that is tight across the chest gapes between the buttons, which is the most common complaint.
- For the pyjama, the hips decide. The waistband is elastic and stretches, but the seat and thighs don't.
When your bust and hips point to different sizes, pick the larger one. A slightly roomy night suit is comfortable. A tight one isn't.
Between two sizes? Size up
Unlike innerwear, sleepwear is meant to sit loose. A little extra room:
- keeps you cool on warm nights, because air moves between fabric and skin
- lets you turn over in bed without the shirt pulling
- allows for a little shrinkage, since cotton can tighten slightly after the first few washes
Length: will the pyjama be too long?
Our pyjamas are straight-fit and full length. If you're petite (under about 5'2"), the hem may sit on your foot. You can fold the hem once or have it taken up. If you'd rather not, look at our printed capris, which end at mid-calf.
Fabric: why cotton
Cotton breathes, absorbs sweat and gets softer with every wash, which is why it's the best choice for sleeping in Indian weather. All So Glamy night suits are soft, breathable cotton, with a button-down shirt, a classic collar and a straight-fit pyjama.
Caring for your night suit
- Wash in cold or lukewarm water, inside out, so the print stays bright.
- Skip the hot dryer: dry in the shade to avoid shrinking and fading.
- Iron on medium heat if you like a crisp collar.
